This service is $50 with a Windows Reinstall.  This services backups up your data to CD or DVD (additional cost if you go over 2 DVDs).  When the Windows Reinstall is complete, we copy the data back to your PC for.

If not paired with a Windows Reinstall, a Data Backup to CD/DVD is $100 and includes the first 10GB.  For more data storage, add $1 per CD (750 MB capacity) or $2 for DVD (5 GB capacity).

UPCC Can also replace all laptop/notebook components such as adapters, batteries, hinges, LCD screens, keyboards and other miscellaneous components.  This can be a BIG money saver when faced with trying to purchase a new computer alltogether.]]> support@nospam.com (Administrator) Wed, 29 Apr 2009 21:21:26 -0400 http://universitypccare.com/portal/news.php?item.3.1 http://universitypccare.com/portal/news.php?item.2.1 the hard drive will be formatted, or erased completely, prior to reinstalling the Windows operating system (i.e. XP or Vista).  This will require that all programs which were previously installed to be reinstalled.  We can backup files (documents, pictures, music, email, etc.) but we cannot backup individual programs.  In order to reinstall the operating system and/or any other software (i.e. Windows, Office, Word, etc.) customer must provide a valid code or license if it is not present on the exterior of the computer (Windows sticker).  Customer is responsible for reinstalling any programs (such as Microsoft Office) that require a license or validation code unless the proper materials are provided to the technician by the customer.  Most settings that have been changed by the customer since the computer was purchased will be reset to their default value after reinstalling Windows.  This includes but is not limited to wireless, dial-up, or other internet settings, and printer settings.  Also, any hardware devices that are not brought into the store with the computer, including printers and wireless adapters, may not work properly until the software or drivers for these devices is reinstalled.
