| ***The hard drive will be formatted (erased), prior to reloading the Windows operating system (i.e. XP, Vista or 7). This will require that all programs which were previously installed to be reinstalled. We can backup files (documents, pictures, music, email, etc.) but cannot backup programs. In order to reload the operating system and/or any other software (i.e. Windows, Office, Word, etc.) the customer must provide a valid code or license if it is not present on the exterior of the computer (Windows sticker). Customer is responsible for reloading any programs (such as Microsoft Office) that require a license or validation code unless the proper materials are provided to the technician by the customer. Most settings that have been changed by the customer since the computer was purchased will be reset to their default value after reloading Windows. This includes but is not limited to wireless, dial-up, internet settings and printer settings. Also, any hardware devices that are not brought into the store with the computer including printers and wireless adapters, may not work properly until the software or drivers are reinstalled. |
